Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Submanagr collects, why, and what we don’t. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the app, we never collect your card or bank credentials, and we never sell your data.
1. What we collect
- Your email — to sign you in (magic-link / OTP) and, optionally, send reminders you’ve opted into.
- Profile basics — a display name, username, and an avatar if you add one.
- Subscriptions and groups you create — the names, prices, renewal dates, splits, and “paid / confirmed” states you and your group enter.
- Payment handles you choose to add — e.g. a Revolut, PayPal, or Venmo username so members can pay you. These are handles, not card numbers, bank account numbers, or login credentials, which we never ask for or store.
2. What we don’t collect
We do not collect or store your card numbers, bank account details, or payment-app passwords. Because Submanagr never moves money, payments happen entirely inside your own payment app — we only deep-link you to it with an amount prefilled.
3. How we use your data
We use it to run the core features: showing your subscriptions, splitting costs, letting groups confirm payments, and sending the notifications you’ve enabled. We don’t use it for advertising, and we don’t sell or rent it to anyone.
4. Processors we rely on
- Supabase — our database and authentication provider, which stores your account and app data on our behalf.
- Sentry — crash and error reporting, so the app doesn’t fail silently. We attach only your user id to error reports — no email, name, or other personal details.
5. Sharing with other users
When you join or run a group, the relevant members can see your display name, avatar, the shared subscription, your split, and your payment status — that’s how splitting works. Invite link previews show the subscription name, who invited you, and the member count to people with the link.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from within the app, which removes your personal profile data. Some records may persist where a group’s shared history depends on them or where we’re required to keep them by law.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise them, contact us at the address below.
8. Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. We’ll update the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app where appropriate.
